Seven Hills Crafts June challenge

Hello my crafty friends,

Today I’ve got another challenge entry for you. This time I’m participating in the June challenge of Seven Hills Crafts

Seven Hills Crafts is a UK based online shop, which sells stamps, die cuts, inks and other items from US based brands such as Lawn Fawn, My favorite things, Newton’s Nook Designs or Avery Elle. They have a great stock and especially for UK or European customers is much easier to get the products from them, without the hassle of paying customs and an insanely amount of postage.

So the theme for this month is: die cut a die cut.

At first, I  wasn’t too sure, how to tackle this challenge, but then I decided to go with a summery and colorful card.

I have to say, that I don’t own a lot of basic dies such as circles or rectangles so I get creative with the things I have. I used the side panel dies that come in the Lawn Fawn scalloped box card pop up to die cut 3 rectangles and then I die cut the butterflies out of said rectangles and put some Lawn Fawn perfectly plaid rainbow paper behind it as a contrast.

I then used the Aloha sentiment from the Avery Elle Aloha stamp set to create a border  on the left and right side of the die cut panels. I stamped it in a metallic green ink first and then I went over it with a black pigment ink.

I used the die cut butterflies to decorate the inside of the card:
